340b Program

The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a federal program that requires drug manufacturers to provide medications to FQHC patients at reduced prices. 340b prices on name brand meds are often cheaper than generic. This program offers much lower prices than GoodRx on most medications. Can be used for patients who are uninsured and underinsured (Medicare co-pays and donut hole.)

Escondido: Neighborhood has an in-house pharmacy inside the Elm clinic. Most prescriptions cost under $12 (sliding scale dispensing fee plus cost of drug.)  A 90-day supply costs little more than a 30-day supply and is preferred for chronic medications.

Elsewhere: Neighborhood contracts with many community pharmacies to provide 340b medications to our patients. These include most local Walgreens pharmacies. Be aware, they determine their own dispensing fees, and their staff might not be familiar with the program.
